Harry Irvin Moreland Sr., a retired chairman of the board of Door Unit Manufacturing of San Antonio, died Saturday at a Ft. Worth nursing home. He was 87. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Harveson & Cole funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Moreland was born in Shreveport, LA., and had lived in Ft. Worth since 1922. He had previously lived in San Antonio. Mr. Moreland was a former real estate broker and a general contractor. His company built St. Mary's Catholic Church and replastered St. Patrick Cathedral.
He was a member of the Ft.l Worth Gun and Skeet Club and the National Rifle Association. He was also a member of the American Trap Shooting Association and the the 1986 and 1987 senior veterna state trap shooting champion. Susrvivors: wife, Leslie Moreland; son, Harry Moreland Jr; and sister, Alice Robertson, all of Ft. Worth.
