Lewis Lee Webb, aged 81 years, 8 months and 16 days died at his home in our city, Monday, January 7, 1919, after a lingering illness of several months. Mr. Webb was born near Milan, Gibson county, Tennessee, April 19, 1837. At the age of 24 years, Mr. Webb enlisted in the 12th Tennessee Infantry , supporting the cause of the confederacy, later in the war joining Forest's cavalry. Soon after the war, in 1869 he was united in marriage to Mary Eliza Graham, and to this union was born 7 children, 5 of whom are living, two daughters and three sons.
At the opening of this country, Mr. Webb with his family moved to a farm five miles southeast of this place, where they resided several years, when they decided to leave the farm and move to town, and have since been numbered among our most highly respected citizens. At the time of his death, Mr.Webb was in his 57th year as a member of the Methodist church. Funeral services of the deceased were held from the Methodist church or our city, Wednesday, Jan 8th at 3:00 o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev M.F. Sullivan after which the remains were laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery. The aged widow and the children have the sympathy of their many friends in the loss of husband and father from their midst.

Webb, John Lee, died May 12 at a Wichita Falls hospital. He was born Aug.
25, 1878 at Cleburne, Tex. He moved to Oklahoma from Texas in 1901,
settling on a farm near Temple. In 1908 he moved to Temple. For many years
he was custodian of the Temple schools. He became a master Mason Nov. 20,
1915, and was a member of Temple Lodge No. 210. He was a member of the
First Methodist church. He was preceded by two sisters and three brothers,
one of whom was Dr. G. O. Webb, an early day pioneer physician, who died at
Temple in 1957. He is survived by a nephew, Harold Webb of Tucson, Ariz.
Services were held at the First Methodist church and burial was in the
Temple cemetery.

Mr. Graham had been a sufferer of this dreaded disease for the past twenty years, and for the past few years has been unable to leave the home and come to town. It is said that he often prayed that the Lord might take him home and relieve him of his sufferings, which prayer was finally answered on last Tuesday morning. Since 1914 he has been a member of the Methodist church of our city. His funeral was held at the Masonic cemetery Wednesday morning at 10:30 by his pastor where interment was made.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. J.A. Tankersley, 77, who died Tuesday at her home, 1201 East Arlington Avenue. Services were conducted at Kennedale by Rev. J.M. Scott with burial in Hudson Cemetery near there. Pallbearers were Jesse M. Brown, Charles Vickery, Lee Hamilton, Judge George E. Hosey, N.E. Hutto and Hugh Hightower. Mrs. Tankersley had been a resident of Texas for 70 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs.Sallie Toone and Mrs. Susie Elder (sic); three sons, Horace, Emmett and Reuben Tankersley, and nine grandchildren, all of Fort Worth, and a brother, J.M. Graham of Elmore, Okla.

Mrs. Ida Jane Graham was born in Arkansas on July 15, 1881 and departed this life February 19, 1969 in Stroud, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Graham resided in the Marlow-Duncan area for some 40 years before going to Bristow, Oklahoma in 1962. She had been a resident of Young's Nursing Home in Stroud since August of 1967, After the death of her first husband in 1918, she and Jim Graham were united in marriage in Duncan, Oklahoma in 1921. Mr. Graham preceded her in death in 1940. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
