Nathan Norris [Parents] died in 1790 in Johnston Co., NC. He married Mrs. Nancy Norris.

In Johnston Co. NC court, May 26, 1803, Wm. Bryan, Matthias Handy and Reuben Sanders were appointed a committee to settle and adjust the accounts between the orphans of Nathan Norris. They were to report their proceedings to the hext court to be held in the county.

In court, 23 Feb. 1795, ordered that William Norriss, Sarah Norriss and Elizabeth Norriss (sic), orphans of Nathan Norris be bound apprentices to Nahor Norriss until they arrive to full age. On Feb. 26, the indentures were executed.

In the same minutes, it is mentioned that the children's "late" guardian was John Rosser. It was ordered that the estates of the children be tranferred to Nahor Norriss. John Rosser was originally appointed guardian to William Norriss, Winefred Norriss, Sarah Norriss and Elizabeth Norriss, orphans of Nathan Norriss, decd who entered into bond with John Pool and John Eason, his securities, for the faithful discharge of the said guardianship during court held Aug, 1792.

During court August 31, 1790, Nancy Norris and Nahor Norris were appointed aministrators of Nathan's estate.They entered into bond with James Rosser and James Norris their securities in the sum of 400 pounds currest money for the faithful discharge of their duty, they were qualified and letters issued.

In court 2 Aug 1789, Nathan Norris was appointed overseer of the road in room and district of Thomas Tomlinson.

In Johnston Co., NC court, she and Jesse Brett, Jr. (sic) brought petition praying that the dower of the said Bretts wife be laid out and alloted off to her in the lands of Nathan Norriss decsd, The court ordered that the sheriff summon twelve good and lawful men to lay off said dower agreeably to law and return their proceeding to next court.

Thursday, 2 Sep, 1790 in court, Nahor Norriss and Nancy Norris, admrs. of the estate of Nathan Norris decd. an inventory of said dec., Estate which was ordered to be recorded and said admrs. sell said estate agreeable to law.

Aaron Smith was appointed guardian to Sally Norris, orphan of Nathan Norris, decd. He came into court and entered bond in the sum of 100 pounds current money, with Daniel Averyt and Young Bridgers, his securities. This was in Johnston Co. court Feb. 23, 1802.

LEOMINSTER - Mrs. Mary A. LaFrance, 90, of 20 Fifth St., died yesterday at Leominster Hospital. She was the widow of Joseph LaFrance who died in 1943.
She leaves a daughter, Gladys, wife of Louis J. Bellio of this city, 10 grandhildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday from the M.A. Simard and Son Funeral Home, 14 Walker St., with a Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Cecilia's Church, 180 Mechanic St. Burial will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be tonight from 7 to 9 pm and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm
