Mrs. Mattie G. Parsons, widow of Frank H. Parsons, died August 28, 1971, at the age of 84. She was born Oct 31, 1886, in Sentress (sic), Tex. and was married in Uvalde, August 15, 1905 to Frank H. Parsons, who preceded her in death in 1953. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Frank Raymond Parsons. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Life Member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Mrs. Parsons is survived by a son, Louis F. Parsons, Uvalde; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy P. Balentine of Uvalde, Mrs. Louise Smart of Luling, La., and Mrs. Irene Vondera of Del Rio; a brother, Morris Graham of California; two sisters, Mrs. Katie Hieser of Casagrande, Ariz., and Mrs. Mable McMains of Nashville, Tenn; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

John Walter Graham, Jr., age 51, a resident of San Jose, Calif., and formerly of Uvalde, died in Victoria, Tex., Sept 28, 1963, following a sudden heart attack.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Frazar Chapel, Uvalde, with Rev. Milton Bohmfalk, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Graveside services in Uvalde Cemetery were conducted by the Aransas Pass masonic Lodge No.l 018, assisted by the Uvalde Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Graham was born in Uvalde Aug 25.1912, the son of John Walter and Mary Louise (Norsworthy) Graham and lived in this community until 1927. He formerly lived in Port Aransas for seven years prior to moving to California. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Aransas Pass, the American Legion and the Methodist church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. J.W. Graham, Jr. of San Jose, Calif.; two step-sons, Charles & Ira Johnston of Artesia, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Joe Collier of Menlo Park, Calif.; Mrs. Virgil Cauthorn of Del Rio and Mrs. Sue Katchman of Mason; numerous nieces and nephews.
Members of the Masonic Lodge served as pallbearers.
