Thomas C. Bivins died Monday night about 10:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Parsons, five miles south of town in Burnet Co. Mr. Bivins was 84 years old and had been a resedent of Lampasas for more than 45 years, being among those who sustained loss of property in the overflow of the town in 1873, and during the latter years of his business activities, conducted a furniture business. He was a member of the Church of Christ for more than 40 years and died in that faith.

He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his passing away. The children are: William Bivins, Dallas; E.H. Bivins, Lampasas; Mrs. Ben Fox, Moline; Mrs. E.W. Parsons, Burnet Co.; Mrs. Gus Townsen, Dallas; Mrs. Robinson, Houston. All of the children were present except William Bivens and Mrs. Robinson.

Mrs. T. C. Bivins, 88 years of age, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B.W. Fox, five miles east of town, Friday March 9 at 5:45. She had been in very poor health for a long time and had not been able to be away from the home for several years. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Lawrence Williams, pastor of the Christian Church, assisted by Rev. A. F. Avant, pastor of the Baptist Church, at the Fox home, Saturday afternoon. Interrment was in Oak Hill Cemetery beside her husband who passed away in 1919.

Mrs. Bivins was a native Texan, having been born Elizabeth Tankersley December 2, 1846 in Titus County near Mt Pleasant. Following her marriage to T. C. Bivins the couple moved to Lampasas about 1896 and since that time this has been her home. After the passing of Mr. Bivins and the failing fo her health, Mrs. Bivins had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Fox for the past fourteen years. Mrs. Bivins had been a member of the Christian Church and lived a true disciple of her Savior in her quiet unassuming manner.

Of the nine children born to Mrs. Bivins, she is survived by six children: Mrs. B.W. Fox of Lampasas; Mrs. E.W. Parsons of Lampasas; Mrs. A.R. Townsen of San Francisco, Calif. W. R. Bivins of Los Angeles, Calif. and Mrs. Dorothy Blackwell of Los Angeles, Calif.
