Mrs. Ritchey was born July 30, 1916 in Mesa to Frank Joe and Katie Hiesser. Her father was the first Arizona casualty of the 1918 flu epidemic, and she was raised by her mother and grandparents, Headley and Lou Graham, in Chandler. She attended Chandler schools and Gila (now Eastern Arizona) College in Thatcher and then Lambson Business College in Phoenix.
She was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Casa Grande and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star. She did volunteer work at Desert Valley Care Center, Casa Grande Valley Historical Society and in her daughter's classroom.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlene McHaney of Casa Grande; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, in 1984; two sons, Gerald and Bob Ritchey; and a brother, Dr. Gerald Hiesser.
