I looked over our copies of burial permits and we have no copy for Jeremiah Lucius on file, but there were very little burial records on file before 1915, so he is probably buried in one of our cemeteries I’m sure.if your info said he was placed in a tomb that would be fairly accurate because the ground was probably frozen at the time of his death, and was more than likely buried in the spring when the ground thawed, but where is anybody's guess, especially if he was living in the Charlton alms house. I will look through some of our other records but I can’t promise how soon as the month of May is a very busy time for us with Memorial Day.In 1904 Charlton and four other towns formed an almshouse association. The Charlton poor farm provided shelter, food, clothes, and work for the poor from the five towns. The residents at the 265-acre farm tended to the vegetable gardens, milked the cows, and collected eggs from the chickens. Excess produce and dairy items were sold to cover the expenses. As time passed, several more towns joined the association, which purchased the property in 1925. The almshouse, located off A. Young Road, is now converted to a rest home.
