LEWISClifford B. Lewis, 81, of Oklahoma City died peacefully Tuesday Nov. 22 at the Veterans Center in Norman. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Southern Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Lewis was born on May 9, 1924, in Oklahoma City, to Vilas and Eula Lewis. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 aboard the carrier USS Althamaha. In 1947 he began his career with the Oklahoma City Fire Department and later joined the Air Force Reserve. He was called to active duty in 1950 and returned home in 1953. He resumed his career as a firefighter, retiring in 1968. In his retirement, he was an active member of Southern Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother Kenneth; sister Lorena Williams and brother Cecil. Mr. Lewis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Mark and Leah, and their son Mark Jr. of Norman; sister Edna Traweek of Idyllwild, CA; brother and sister-in-law George and Sue of OKC; brother Donald of Moore; sister-in-law Helen of San Diego; nephew Ernesto Gutierrez of OKC; special friend Minerva Hawkins of Nicoma Park and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
