According to Marilyn Coy, an Eden family researcher, the James Eden family
left Fleming county, Ky and moved into Randolph county, IN about 1878. They
came by covered wagon and had to strap all their belongings to rafts in order
to cross the choppy Ohio River. They lost their grain and a goodly share of
other possessions into the river. It is believed they followed the Licking River
