Denver Carter Cupp was born August 13, 1919 and departed this life November 17, 1933, being 14 years, 3 months and 4 days old. He was only sich a short time and bore his sickness well, being conscious until death. He talked to his parents about dying and kissed them good bye.
He leaves to mourn his loss father, mother, and sister, J. B. Cupp, Dorsie L. Cupp and Mrs. Wheeler Carikin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 18, at two p.m. at Thompson's Chapel, by the Revs. H. R. Sanifer and Mathew Oliver. Pall bearers were Carl Burchfield, Wade Evans, Bertram Harris, Dale Harmon and J. C. Harmon. Flower girls were Ruth Noe, Ruth Moss, Lois England, Della Cosby, Grace Rowland, Virginia Sharp. All of them were classmates of his.

We know your suffering and sorrows are over where ours are just before us. Your absence in the home in such pain, but we realize it is Heaven's gain.

Dr. Thomas Jefferson Carr, 73, practicing physician of Knox and Grainger
Counties for the past 45 years, died Tuesday at 3 A.M. at his home in
Corryton, Knox County [a handwritten note indicates "since 1888"]. Dr. Carr
was a Baptist minister, having been ordained in 1905. He was pastor of Flat
Creek Baptist Church at the time of his death. He had been inactive [sic;
"in" scratched out by someone in pencil] for years in Baptist work in this
part of the state. He also was a member of the Masonic Fraternity. He is
survived by his widow, Mrs. Leetie Carr, two daughters, Miss Bernice Carr
and Mrs. W. L. Grubb, and one son, Amory E. Carr, all of Corryton. The body
was removed from Mann's Mortuary to the home yesterday afternoon. Funeral
services will be conducted today at 12:30 P.M. at the home at Corryton and
continued at 3 P.M. at Washburn Baptist Church, the Rev. Robert E. George,
the Rev. W. D. Lindsay, and Rev. Elsie Childs will officiate. Burial will be
in Cleveland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Lamar Clark, Paul Nicely,
Harry Grubb, Homer Cleveland, Clyde Clapp, and Worth Mullins. Honorary:
Frank Huff, William Foust, Mack Zachary, Joe Wolfe, Joe Freeman, Lorn
