Lillie France. Lillie was employed as in Store owner..
(From Mary Trice Payne Gammon, 1,2000)," Grandma Payne lived with Grandpa Payne about 10 miles out from Greensboro, Alabama in the country. Grandpa Payne farmed and Grandma Payne ran a little country store that was on the road down in front of their home. I remember that Grandma would get up in the morning, put on her apron, fix a huge breakfast, and then after she cleaned up the dishes, she would head down to run the little country store. She sold tobacco supplies, food, vegetables from their garden, eggs, soap, candy, and the usual items that a little store in the country would carry."
She had the following children:
F i Edna Payne was born about 1867. M ii Edward Irvin Payne was born on 2 Sep 1887. He died on 31 Dec 1944.
Tandy Trice Syring was born on 14 Feb 1864. He died on 13 Apr 1921 in Greensboro, Greene (Hale) County, Alabama. He was buried in Buried at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Greensboro, Hale Co, AL. He married Lula Irene Pilkerton on 10 Apr 1887.
Tandy Trice Syring was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1846. He was the ninth and last child of Henry and Susannah E. Evans Syring. Henry Syring was born January 10, 1816 in Germany and died February 5, 1876 in Greene County, Alabama. Susannah E. Evans Syring was born in North Carolina on April 26, 1824. She died December 10, 1894. They were married in Greene County, Alabama. They are buried in the Rhodes Baptist Church Cemetery in Greensboro, Hale County, Alabama. Tandy Trice Syring was a very ambitious and intelligent man. He owned a large farm near the town of Greensboro, Hale County, Alabama. On it he designed and had built a large white home with tall white columns in front. He had many slaves who farmed the land for him.His wife, Lula Pilkerton Syring, managed the home and the household help. Lula was a highly refined lady who believed in being well dressed at all times. She had lovely clothes for herself and her family. Tandy Trice wore a white suit with white leggings and tall brown leather boots most of the time. He was very strict with his help on the farm and very prudent with his business dealings. The family story is that he was thought of as being 'the meanest man in Hale County'. I like to think that he was more rigid in his personality due to a stern German upbringing. He was a very talented man, being described as a 'Jack of All Trades'. One of his talents was shown in his architectural abilities. He designed the ceiling tiles in the Antioch Baptist Church in Greensboro, Alabama. The church is still in use today and the people who visit are awed by the beautiful ceiling. Tandy Trice Syring was quite successful in his work as an architect and a farmer and land owner. He was quite financially well off.
He and his wife had the following eight children: Mamie Florence (2/5/1888-12/30/1897), Alma Lamae (10/25/1890-?), James Trice (9/21/1892-?), Cammie Elizabeth (4/16/1895-10/1/1973), Minnie Ruby (12/3/1898-2/1/1977), Shelby Robert (7/13/1902-1940), Calvin Patrick (8/16/1905-?), Lucile (8/16/1905-5/14/1908).
Tandy Trice Syring was born February 14, 1864 and died April 13, 1921. He married Lula Irene Pilkerton on April 10, 1887.. Lula was born December 5, 1868 and died January 30, 1948. They lived their lives in Greensboro, Alabama. They are buried at the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Greensboro, Alabama.GREENSBORO WATCHMAN:

Syring fell on asleep after a useful and well spent life. He had been a
good

served as Deacon from 1898. His trust was in Jesus Christ whom he served
