DEATH OF IKE SAMPSON
Ike Sampson, age 62, died at a hosptial in Knoxville, Tenn., on Sept.13, 1944 after a short illness. The remains were brought to Scottsboro Funeral Home and the funeral was held at the Section Methodist church Friday with burial at that place. Rev. Harold Martin, pastor of the church, conducting.
Mr. Sampson leaves his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Carter of Section, Miss Vivian Sampson, at home, two sons, Thurman of Dutton and Mason, of Birmingham. He also leaves three grandchildren and other relatives, including his mother, Mrs. Mary Sampson of Chattanooga and three brothers, J.T. Sampson, Chattanooga, John Sampson of Colorado, Peter Sampson of Fabius.
The deceased was a farmer in the Section community. He had been working at a defense plant near Knoxville when stricken and carried to the hospital, where he remained about a week before his death.
Emma Fields [Parents] was born on 25 Jul 1886 in GA. She died on 23 Nov 1975 in Section, Jackson Co., AL. She was buried in Section Meth. Church Cem., Jackson Co., AL. She married Ike Sampson about 1912.

Mrs. Emma Sampson
SECTION - Mrs. Emma Sampson, 89, of Section, died Sunday at Jackson County Hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at the Section Methhodist Church, the Rev. Dorsey Walker officiating.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Payne of Ecorse, Mich; a son, Thurman Sampson of Scottsboro; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Cox of Tuscumbia; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
