Leonidas Calmet , Jr. Standifer [Parents] was born on 27 Sep 1889 in Oxford, Lafayette Co, Mississippi. He died on 21 Jan 1971 in Jackdon, Hinds County, Mississippi. He married Emma Lee Moore on 21 Dec 1917 in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi.

Leonidas C. Standifer, Jr. was originally named Paul Calmet because his father admired the Apostle Paul. After his father's death, his mother renamed him Leonidas Calmet in honor of his father. As a child he was called 'Little Cal', but he preferred the nickname 'Shack' a deriviation of the biblical Meshach. In a Sunday School play he played the roll of Meshach in the story of the 'Fiery Furnace".
Shack is mentione as a boy in an autobiography by Wm Faulkner's brother, 'My Brother Bill'. He is named Shack Standifer, who drove the family cow from a pasture near the Faulkner's home. The Faulkners lived in the 'wrong part of town'. (From Scott Standifer, Shack's grandson.

Emma Lee Moore [Parents].Emma married Leonidas Calmet , Jr. Standifer on 21 Dec 1917 in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, Mississippi.

Nancy H. Bradford

Graveside services for Nancy Holland Bradford,
age 100, of Rocksprings were held at 6 p.m. Sunday,
Sept. 26, in the Rocksprings Cemetery. Roland Fry and
Larry Bailey officiated.
Mrs. Bradford and her late husband were both members
of pioneer ranching families. She was born April 15, 1882,
in Paint Rock, and died Sept. 25, 1982, in Uvalde Memorial
Hospital. She and William Moody Bradford were married
Nov. 25, 1900, at the Henderson Ranch in Edwards County.
Mrs. Bradford was a member of the Rocksprings Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Allene and
Aubrey Clark, Rocksprings; son, Hal Bradford, Rocksprings;
three grandchildren, Neddie Jenkins of Uvalde, Keith Bradford
of Rocksprings and Shirley Thomas of Hot Springs, Ark.; six great-
grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-
grandchild. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Hadie Seale and Mrs.
Quida Kast, both of Rocksprings; and a brother, L.K. Henderson Jr.
of Kerrville.
Arrangements were by Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary, Uvalde.

  F ii Ellis Allene Bradford was born on 17 Sep 1905. She died on 26 Aug 1988.
